This DVD is about 2 hours long, and 20 years old. It is filmed at a seminar in Ontario,
Canada, with a single camera focused just on Dr Dunbar as he speaks, consequently the production values are limited. HOWEVER, the content is as good now as it was then, and is certainly not dated. I am a fan of Dr Dunbar and have been to his seminars and experienced first hand his excellent delivery and obvious wealth of knowledge and vast experience. In this DVD Dr Dunbar covers many subjects from puppy hood, separation anxiety, recalls, sociability and many more. He explains in easy to understand language positive & negative reinforcement, reinforcement schedules and why aversive punishment is so counter productive. Dr Dunbar also shows us how our dogs learn to train us, with examples of behaviours that I am sure we will all recognise. In all his training Dr Dunbar emphasises the importance of the relationship and trust, with our companion. So yes it is 20 years old, but I would have no hesitation in recommending it to any dog owner now and in the future. |
